Director – Family Ministry

(Part Time Lay Ministry Role)

Christ Church Brampton is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, energetic and committed addition to our ministry team who will focus on ministry with Children, Youth and Families.  Our Sunday School growth indicators for the past two years have been very strong as has our intentional youth ministry for “tweens” and teens.

Reporting to the Incumbent, the successful candidate will provide leadership in Christian faith development programs for children, youth and families on Sunday morning, mid week and at special events.   



  1. Develop and lead age-specific mid-week programming for children and youth

  2. As the staff liaison, support the ongoing growth of our Sunday school by overseeing the selection, development and implementation of faith development curriculum for children and youth.

  3. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers through regular, well planned meetings for prayer, training, communication and encouragement.

  4. Teach confirmation preparation.

  5. Oversee the planning of family related events such as the Christmas pageant, Vacation Bible School, retreats and other outreach initiatives.

  6. Welcome and incorporate new families; integrating their members into the life of our parish family.

  7. Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic and engaging individual who possesses a strong work ethic as well as excellent organization and interpersonal leadership skills.

  • A contagious Christian faith with a desire for others to come to know Jesus more and more.

  • A degree or certificate in Christian education, ministry or theology with specific focus in child and youth ministry is desirable.

  • A proven ability to develop and lead an effective children & youth ministry program.

  • A proven ability to recruit, develop and manage volunteers.

  • A proven ability to relate well to others; leading, initiating and maintaining relationships through ongoing communication and follow-up.

  • Ability to work flexible hours involving weekends and holidays.

  • Familiarity with, and openness to, the Anglican tradition.



  • Proven leadership with an ability to draw upon both strong teaching and leadership skills.

  • An understanding of himself or herself as a Christian role model.

  • Sensitivity to people with diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Commitment to the practice of personal spiritual discipline, including prayer and Bible study.


Salary Range:

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Refinement of the specific duties and expected hours will be negotiated with the candidate.
