The Rev'd. Jeff Nowers' Ordination to the Sacred Order of Priests - Trinity Sunday, 2017
On Sunday, June 11th @ 4:00 pm in the afternoon, Christ Church celebrated the ordination of Jeffrey Alan Nowers to the Sacred Order of Priests followed by a light reception. What a splendid day it was!
Annual Church Picnic - Trinity Sunday, 2017
Christ Church joined our neighbouring downtown churches ~ St. Paul's United, Grace United and St. Andrew's Presbyterian for our our annual joint worship and picnic in Gage Park. Fortunately the weather cooperated making the ever popular "soak the priest" not too unbearable!
Senior Youth & College/Careers Youth Retreat - May 20 to 22, 2017
Grace 2.0 Our Youth Retreat this year was at Camp Koinonia. We started in sunshine but soon encountered rain but it did not deter our spirits! Delving deeper into our Lenten theme of Grace, we studied "The Prodigal God" and accepted the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury to participate in Thy Kingdom Come - the global prayer movement from Ascension to Pentecost. Many thanks to our leaders Sally Campbell, Tina Clarke, Kim Gilmore, Martha Whittaker and Paul Wren for helping our youth and young adults on their faith journeys.
Mad Hatter's Tea Party - April 30, 2017
Our Youth Groups hosted a Mad Hatter Tea Party. A free-will offering was directed to our Youth Retreat scheduled for May 20 - 22. Our Youth Retreat this year is at Camp Koinonia. We will be running concurrent programs for both our Senior Youth (Grades 9 - 12) and our College/Careers Group
